THE URGONAUTS are a ska and rocksteady union from the Italian hills (Urgo Valley) of Emilia-Romagna. Jamaican music-obsessed and armed with surf guitars, the band is like an orchestra in which every member is a singer. Their live concerts evoke the atmospheres of 1960s Kingston, Caribbean ska bands, and London ghettos. Their latest fourteen track album on KOB Records is sung entirely in Italian.
