Joe Ferry is grammy award winning record producer, author, bassist and educator. Over the course of his 35-year career, he has produced records and played bass for numerous artists, including The Skatalites, Dr. John, The Roches, The New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars, SKAndalous All-Stars, Uzimon, Huey Lewis and the News, and Joey Ray.The Big Ska Band, the group that Joe leads, has released several albums including a companion soundtrack for his debut novel, “Connected: Mob Stories From My Past,” featuring tracks by Augustus Pablo, King Tubby, Rita Marley, Victor Rice, The Butcha, Menace, Channel Tubes and The Big Ska Band. In 2014 JUMP UP released the limited edition “BEST DUB” 12″ EP featuring JOE FERRY, UZIMON, CHANNEL TUBES, and VICTOR RICE – but now JOE is back with a brand new full length album on SHANACHIE! We here at JUMP UP are so proud to release the first 7″ vinyl single from the album featuring “CARRY ON” (with COREY GLOVER of LIVING COLOUR) and a wonderful new rendition of the Caribbean ska classic “Jamaica Farewell” featuring LESTER STERLING of THE SKATALITES!
